The Awaiting
Details in the leaves,
the colours free,
seasons climate spirals
in the mist of the storm.
Tops of trees twitch nervously
And the apprehension
of sky
over hangs,
the summers changing cloud.
Wild life
waits in anticipation
sheltered in long grass
and shrubbery,
cattle find shelter
in clusters of evergreen,
as ripples gather pace
in canal water.
Fisherman’s umbrellas blow
while distant mountains fade
in the haze of foreground.
The Scent of burning wood
wastes no time
as day falls
in the trespass of climate change.
The sky, a dead man’s shadow,
the composition of the heavens.
